The service

WordScout is a free tool that searches an English word list in your browser to (a) unscramble letters into words that can be formed from them, and (b) list 5-letter words matching a pattern and letter conditions you provide.

Results and game dictionaries

• Results come from a large general English word list. Every word game (Wordle, Scrabble, Words With Friends and others) maintains its own official dictionary, and those dictionaries differ. A word shown here is not guaranteed to be accepted by any particular game.
• WordScout does not play any game for you, connect to any game account, or guarantee any outcome.
• How you use the results — including whether using a helper fits the spirit of a game you are playing with others — is your responsibility.

Acceptable use

Do not use this site to violate any law or to interfere with the operation of the site. Automated bulk abuse of the site is prohibited.

WordScout is independent and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to Wordle, the New York Times, Hasbro or Zynga. All trademarks belong to their respective owners and are used only descriptively.
